The Royal Wedding 2018

Kensington Palace announced via Twitter on 15 December that the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take place on 19 May this year. The announcement (made via Twitter) nearly broke the Internet and since then the media has been laser-fixed on all events related to the Royal wedding. The excitement surrounding the big day is electric. Everyone here at Astors Belgravia can’t wait to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally tie the knot. We are thoroughly looking forward to seeing this amazing event take place.

The marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle at 12:00.

Public holiday?

So, do the public get the day off? Well, seeing that the Royal Wedding falls on a Saturday, the answer to that would be ‘No’. When Prince Charles and Diana Spencer were wed in 1981, the public were graciously given the day off to join in the celebrations. The same was the case when Prince William and Catherine Middleton were wed in 2011. The 2018 Royal Wedding will not cause any issues regarding public holidays.
